Happiness Practice - April 6, 2018
[This is a post written to catch up blog posts with historical posts before I set up the blog! I'll also be adding tags so it's easier to find old subjects.]
What's making you happy this week?
Last night, courtesy of Adam, I played a team take on Fog of Love which was super fun! It's a board game about a relationship (SU&SD reviewed it and that was also a fun thing to watch!) and it was an absolute blast. The actual mechanics of the game are really clever and interesting, and we were fortunate to draw a number of scenes that led to maximum hilarity. Playing it as a team was really fun, too, leading Matt and I to occasionally disagree about who "we" were and who "we" thought our partner was. It was a really fun game and I'd like to play it again for sure!
Another thing that's making me happy this week is Forth Wanderers, who I first heard on this week's All Songs Considered (annnoyingly I can't find a link directly to that song, Taste, but it's about halfway down and it's very good). I went and listened to a bunch more of their music on Spotify and I really like it! They are super evocative of the Postal Service & early Death Cab (and actually are on the same label!), to the point that I wonder if it's actually weird or harmful to be listening to music that is technically "new" but in practice is indistinguishable from the songs I loved as an 18-year-old. But maybe I just knew what I liked then, and still like it now! Either way, if you like that kind of music you should give them a listen.
Now what about you?
