What's making you happy this week?
First off, I got a surprise day off because my office is closed for some reason! That's definitely making me happy but it isn't exactly easy to share, so...
I recently started playing Caesar III again, which is a sorta city-sim/strategy game from 1999 I've played on and off since probably the turn of the millennium, and I'm enjoying it so much! It definitely shows its age, and running on a new machine has a few weird new glitches, but building a balanced city and getting the people fed and keeping the gods happy is an entertaining challenge, and I'm having a blast. It's about $5 on Steam and I would definitely say it's worth it! I have spent the last few days daydreaming about housing tile layouts that might work for my new city.
The other thing making me happy this week is Dread Nation, by Justina Ireland. It's about a zombie uprising during the American Civil War, and it was really good! I tore through it in only a few days, and I'm already looking forward to the sequel.
Now, what about you?
